The USUI Reiki Center is a non-profit, volunteer California organization comprised of Reiki practitioners dedicated to healing using the modality known as Reiki. We are committed to honoring our lineage from Dr. Mikao Usui to our Reiki Masters Denise and John Crundall.

John Crundall began teaching in 1991, in partnership with his beloved wife and spiritual teacher - Denise Crundall. Together they established the Usui Reiki Centre in Melbourne, Australia in 1991; a healing center which is run entirely by volunteers and funded by donations. Denise and John's work in the AIDS community and with those facing life-threatening illnesses has inspired a sense of dignity and compassion in all those they have touched. They have gained respect throughout the world for their dedication and commitment to spiritual healing. Denise and John's wisdom and insight have helped many to find the self-respect and love to heal themselves and to discover their own spirituality. Together they have inspired people around the world: teaching in Australia, Canada, USA, Germany, Russia, Austria and Thailand.
Denise Crundall, our Beloved Reiki Master, Teacher and friend, claimed her freedom, and transitioned in peace and surrounded by love on June 30, 2002. John now carries the Light of Reiki in her name.
Their journey continues through John's dedication and commitment to the Lineage and Love of Reiki. John's warmth, wit and wisdom make him a gentle and powerful teacher. His courage and love inspire all who step into the energy of Reiki to heal themselves and discover their own spirituality.

How our Reiki Lineage came to California: ● 1991- Denise and John Crundall teach Reiki at The Center for Living with Dying in Santa Clara, California. ●1994 a group of practitioners, gathered together and created the dream of a USUI Reiki Center in San Jose, inspired by Reiki Masters, Denise and John, and their desire to serve their community. ●1995 - Reiki Training held in San Diego. ● 1996 - USUI Reiki Center in Santa Barbara is established as a Sister Center and has first Reiki Training at the historic Santa Barbara Mission. ● 1997 - Reiki program established at The Cancer Center of Ventura County for cancer patients and their caregivers. ● 1997 - The USUI Reiki Center became a California Non-Profit Corporation ● 1997 - USUI Reiki Center in Santa Barbara establishes Introductory to Reiki presentations (For more information, see Community Outreach) ● 1999 - Acquired the status of a Continuing Education Provider by the California Board of Registered Nursing. ● 2001 - USUI Reiki Center corporate offices transferred to Santa Barbara. ● 2004 - Acquired the status of a Continuing Education Provider by the Associate Bodywork and Massage Professionals.
